National Portrait Prize

The NPP selection was announced the other day and one of my images was selected.

The inaugural National Photographic Portrait Prize 2007 will be displayed in the Gallery from 6 December 2007 to 23 March 2008. The Prize, sponsored by Visa International, is an annual event intended to promote the very best in contemporary photographic portraiture by both professional and aspiring Australian photographers.

The Gallery received an exceptional number of entries for the Prize and the quality of the submissions was very high. The huge number of entries made it a difficult task for the three judges to reduce the overall pool to the final 75 portraits that will hang in the exhibition. The NPG appreciates the support of all entrants.

The National Photographic Portrait Prize is intended to be an annual event and there will be a call for entries for the second National Portrait Prize in October next year.
